Freepository was included in a meta-profile of several compainies in the online storage space. This is a service we’ve provided for over six years, and is just now getting mainstream attention. We’re thrilled to hear Michael Arrington validate our own assessment that this is “…a biliion dollar market opportunity”.
Small but important pieces of functionality – that’s my defintion of a widget* (and likely yours as well). I want my widgets available on my desktop, close by, but still out of the way. The widget metaphor can be extended to any type of necessary functionality, really. That’s a key aspect of our strategy.
Much has been written lately about the emergence of the Software as a Service (SaaS) business model, and how new markets are developing around it. I argue that the ASPs of old have grown up, and now that they’re delivering real value, both their name and perception has changed.
Development of Freepository Premium Edition is progressing well. The primary mechanism for allowing members to subscribe has been implemented & tested, and the additional tools integrate nicely with the new member dashboard. This makes Freepository a full Software Development Management (SDM) Portal providing remotely implemented, securely accessible development infrastructure.
So how valuable is something if you can get it or use it free of charge?
